Happy New Year

Happy New Years!
On Monday we had our vocabulary test for weeks 14-16. Most of the kids did really well! On Tuesday we read " Pecos Bill" in reading class, and finally on Wednesday we had the chapter 5 science test. Everyone did very well this week!

December 26th

Hi Everyone,
This week we read about The Little Painter of Sabana Grande in reading. In Science we studied conserving natural resources. We were originally going to have a test on Friday, however, I felt the kids needed a little more time to study, so we'll have the test on Monday instead. Because we postponed the test we did creative writing on Friday instead. The kids have been getting better at writing, and I think the practice was good for them.
Joe had a lot of interesting questions during science class. Shawn is getting better at writing.I think he is improving his grammar, he just needs to work on writing cohesive sentences.Richard wrote a very creative story on Friday. He's getting very good at writing! Willy did good in reading. He seemed to enjoy this week's story. And finally, Steven continues to do excellent in class. He's very quick doing his work. Not only is he a fast worker, he also does very well and usually gets everything correct.

This weeks Weekly Reader will be a summary of the reading.....

December 18th

Hi everyone,
This week we read the story "Moses Goes to a Concert" in reading. In science we read about fossils and how they are formed. So far all the kid's are doing really well. Joe did well on his vocabulary test last week. I still think he can do better though. Willy and Shawn scored the highest, both of them scored a 97%. Steven and Richard also did well. Although I also think the two of them could do a little better.
Tomorrow is the Tree House Christmas Celebration. I hope everyone will be able to come. The kids have all worked very hard to prepare and I know they're excited for the performance.

This week the kids have to write a summary for this weeks Weekly Reader.

It's good to be back

It's good to be back.... After teaching Teacher Peter's class for the past two weeks I'm glad to be back to the Oneida class. We had a good week this week. On Monday and Tuesday studied about igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks; as well as the different types of soil.
On Wednesday we had our Comprehensive Reading review test ; on Thursday and Friday we tested week 1-15 vocabulary.

Shawn is doing well. He did great on his vocabulary test so far...

Joe has been trying harder, hopefully he'll do well on this week's tests.

Willy seemed well prepared this week for all his tests.

Steven did very good on science this week.

Richard was also good in science class. I think I mentioned this before, but he always has very intelligent, insightful things to add to class discussions.

This week the kids will have to write a summary for their weekly readers....

Barbeque

Dear Parents,

It’s the 14^th week of class and I see that everyone is making improvements in the areas they are weaker in. We will be having a BBQ on Friday!

This week we completed:

Reading: We read Web Wonders. It is about spiders and how amazing their webs are. Some stories say that spider webs are strong enough to block arrows. Scientists are trying to find a way to produce spider webs that are as strong as the real ones. They can be used in clothing or even in bridges to keep them from falling down during an earthquake.

Science: This week, we took the Chapter 4 test.
